Fly By Night
I loved this - it was both very reminiscent of Diana Wynne Jones and Joan AIken, whilst also being very much it's own thing. Best of both worlds!

Luna: New Moon
This was a sci-fi novel with lots of brown characters, queer characters and women, so it would have had to have worked quite hard to lose me. It wasn't perfect, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and am looking forward to the next in the... series? Trilogy? Not sure. (I hope it is less typo riddled than this one was, though. :/)

Very much agreed re: Fly By Night. Hardringe seems to be very DWJ-influenced to me.

Yes, definitely. She also does the DWJ thing of writing a great variety of books, which I love.
