1.) Being Human is back! spoilers )

2.) Best thing about snow? The "Your Pictures" section on the BBC website. *browses happily*

3.) I was skimming through my copy of About Time 4 last night, looking at which stories are on their way, when I noticed that instead of page 311 they've printed page 11 again. Disaster! I don't suppose any of you have a copy and would be willing to scan or photocopy the relevant page? I would be v. grateful! Otherwise I'll try and have a moan at Amazon...

Snooowwwww. We had about three or four inches overnight, and I walked to work with it crunching and creaking under my feet, lovely. (Here is a picture I took on my way to work.) On the minus side it was freezing at work: yesterday was the first day back after Christmas and something had gone wrong with the heating, so it didn't even get switched on until nearly lunchtime, and it was only just beginning to warm the building a little today. So yesterday we were all huddled in our coats (and, in my case, my knitted armwarmers (NB I do have a little finger, but it is not pictured here)) shivering, and today wasn't that much better. But on the plus side the library closed early, so I went home at 4.45 instead of 7.30 and have been spending the evening reading all the lovely things in my [community profile] fandom_stocking and grinning all over my face. ♥

[personal profile] yhlee wrote me a lovely Buffy and Angel ficlet
[personal profile] shannonsequitur made me two fab icons
[personal profile] netgirl_y2k wrote me a great Liz and Jo at Christmas ficlet
[personal profile] cosmic_llin wrote me Jadzia introducing Kira to the joys of dabo, ♥
[personal profile] calapine wrote me Gentlemen of the Universe, with Eight and Harry, squee!
[personal profile] cosmic_celery wrote me James Bond is Not a Time Lord (or, I make fun of George Lazenby), in which Eight and Fitz watch some Bond films, yay!
[personal profile] eponymous_rose wrote me a gorgeous Grace and Romana fic: Part 1 | Part 2
[profile] glinda_penguin made me an awesome fanmix, which I am listening to right now!
[personal profile] ghost2 wrote me adorable Ace/Hex fluff
and [profile] cidercupcakes wrote me a brilliant Buffy/Middleman crossover
plus various messages and greetings :D

As a result I am feeling v. warm and fuzzy at the moment. Thank you, everyone!

1) I made a hat! I have been making it for a while but I finished it today, spurred on by the freezingness of my walk home from work. Here is a not entirely awful picture of it in situ, i.e. on my head:

actually it is mostly a picture of my camera, tbh )

2.) Have not yet won anything in Big Finish's daily podcast competitions, and I don't know the answer to today's question so the prospects are not good. But they are a great listen anyway and I was pleased to hear that the main range will include the Eighth Doctor again from 2011. Eight is my favourite but I can't afford to subscribe to the separate Eighth Doctor stories and the main range and the Companion Chronicles, so something had to go and I don't like the format of the separate Eight stories, so that was it.

3.) Snow is forecast for tomorrow everywhere in the country but here, which is a little sad, but on the other hand I have some travelling by train to do tomorrow so maybe it's for the best.

4.) LJ are doing a holiday promotion thing whereby paid account holders like me get ten vouchers foor $10 off a paid account to give to basic/plus account holders, thereby giving LJ more money. If anyone would like one, give me a shout in the comments or by PM, or email, and it shall be yours!

5.) Today at work the PGCE Music studios came in and sang carols to us, it was lovely. They do this every year but there were loads of them and they sounded great. I could even hear them when they went down to sing on the floor below. ♥

Signs I am really not prepared for Weather: surveying my footwear this morning, I decided that actually my ankle boots with their inch or two of heel probably had the best grip of everything I owned. (My wellies are pretty much novelty only, I've discovered, and my trainers are a bit rubbish.) Nearly fell over many times; managed to maintain verticality if not dignity. So at lunchtime I went out and bought some new walking boots - I already have a pair, but they are in Cheltenham. Am justifying Vast Expense to myself on the grounds that a) am unlikely to grow out of them and it's not like they'll go out of fashion, not being in fashion to start with and b) I need them in Cheltenham fairly often and boots are annoying to lug back and forwards all the time.

In the non-footwear department, I watched the last part of The Myth-Makers last night. Maybe I was just tired from working late, but it almost had me in tears towards the end. spoiler cut, to be on the safe side )

The snow has pretty much melted now, alas, but here are some pictures I took of the view from work this morning (indulge me, ok, we very rarely get even this much snow down south):

a winter wonderland! ish )

While I am in a photo-y mood, here is a meme (wot I have done before, but never mind). This iteration nicked from [livejournal.com profile] eponymous_rose: Ask me to take a picture of any aspect of my life that you're interested in/curious about - it can be anything from my DVD collection to my favorite pair of shoes. Leave your choice(s) here as a comment, and I will reciprocate by taking the pictures and posting them as an entry. That way you get to know a little bit about my life.

Completely unrelated, other than that it is on my mind today: I am thinking about signing up for [livejournal.com profile] tardis_gen, but I've never done a ficathon before, and thus there is fear. What if I cannot think of anything, or if what I write is rubbish, or I say I can write characters that it turns out I can't? Argh, I am going to stop worrying about it and go and make some cakes. Cake makes everything better.

SNOWING SNOWING IT'S SNOWING! It was only little bits this morning but now it's proper big flakes and settling and everything! It hasn't snowed here for about three years! I am really far too excited about this given I will have to walk home in it!
